Wine history in the area dates back to the 13th Century, when Cistercian monks arrive from Valladolid bringing with them people to work the lands and cultivate vines. In 2002, eleven friends from the town of Navaluenga, in the province of �vila, gathered together with the common idea of preserving the old and beautiful vineyards of the Alto Alberche Valley, about 2 hours west of Madrid.
